Candia's lake

Relax and nature

Surrounded by the hills of Canavese, Lago di Candia is one of the most interesting lacustrine areas of Piedmont.
Speckled with thousands colours that change with the seasons and inhabited by a huge variety of birds and plants, the lake became a National Park in 1995.
The holiday in the lake's area offers a wide range of possibilities for tourism: from the relax of a breathtaking landscape, to the walks in the paths surronding the lake, or more on the possibility of visiting the lake by boat or kayak.

The landscape is stately: the roofs of the village face the lake and Monte Santo Stefano behind it. Looking at the plane the sight reveals the hills of Monferrato, Superga and Maddalena, behind Torino and in the background the majestic Monviso. On the other side, the green hills of Canavese with Serra d'Ivrea, Alps of Mombarone and Gran Paradiso
The park is interesting not only for the lake, but for the surrounding area too: woods, fields and cane fields. The area offers a wide range of paths for those who want to explore the bog by feet or by bike.

We recommend visits in this area during winter or spring.

To be seen in the area surrounding Candia: Candia, its castle and the Tower of Castiglione (TO), the castle of Mazzè (TO), the medieval village in Vische (TO).
