Enjoy the scene offered by Piazza Castello, one of the most beloved squares by the citizens. In front of the castle, 107 meters of the beautiful facade.Through the XIX century's gate, watched by the two statues of the Dioscuri, you can go into the room that where the house of the kings of Sardinia and of the king of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II.
Built for the will of Maria Cristina of France, wife of Duke Vittorio Amedeo I, the works started in 1646 but the castle was then enlarged in 1713 with the precious collaboration of the sicilian architect Filippo Juvarra: particularly valuable are the Scala delle Forbici and the Gabinetto Cinese.
You will be direct witness of the change of taste from XVII to XIX century, admiring the decorations, the furnishing and the works of the most representative artists that worked in Turin through centuries. The brothers Antonio and Gian Francesco Fea, Carlo Bellosio, Claudio Francesco of Beaumont, Jan Miel, Defendente Ferrari and many others.
Behind the Palace the Giardini Reali can be visited. Gardens made at the end of the XVII century by Andrè La Notre, the same of those of VersaillesWalking through the gardens, boulevards interlace with statues and fountains like Fontana del Tritone and Fontana della Nereidi.
